[News] Niko Deng Elected to the STEP Philanthropy Advisors Global SIG Steering Committee
Our Founder and Managing Partner, Yun (Niko) Deng, MBA, LL.M.(Tax), TEP, has been elected to the Steering Committee of the STEP Philanthropy Advisors Global Special Interest Group.
The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) is the global professional body for advisors who work with families across generations. Its Philanthropy Advisors SIG sets standards and shapes practice in philanthropic advisory worldwide. Niko joins the committee following the group's recent global elections, alongside new members from Europe, the Middle East, and North America.
"With a background in tax law, I have long been aware of the limits of traditional redistribution systems," Niko said. "They remain necessary, but they are not always precise in how capital is directed or sustained. Thoughtfully structured philanthropy can help address that gap."
"At its best, philanthropy is not simply about giving. It is an intentional expression of values, a governance decision, and a way to create lasting impact across generations.
